Beauty DIY To Try This Weekend: Rose Bliss Face Mask

2 min read

Ah, DIYs. Sometimes you want to get your Martha Stewart on, walk into the kitchen and CREATE. And sometimes, you just want to throw mashed avocado into your hair and call it day. The great thing about natural beauty is that you can use whole ingredients to craft your very own beauty rituals, while also tapping into that creative streak. I have a few tried and true DIYs I regularly turn to, but I also always need more. So, I’m asking beauty industry experts to share their favorite beauty DIYs with us. These experts know their ingredients like the back of their hands, so you can trust that what they whip up will be a total treat.

The Expert: Tamy Liriano, founder of Papillon

First and foremost, says Tamy, she’s a mom to two rambunctious young boys. But secondly, she’s a health, wellness and fitness fanatic with the heart of an entrepreneur. Her latest brand, Papillon, is her second business venture. It was born from Tamy’s desire for a cleaner and simpler skincare line that would work fo her extremely sensitive skin. She’s been in the beauty industry for almost eight years (she owned a Miniluxe Franchise before she founded Papillon two years ago), so you know she knows her stuff.

The Beauty DIY Recipe: Rose Petal Powder Face Mask

The Benefits of a DIY Rose Petal Powder Face Mask

This DIY rose petal powder face mask is great for soothing, rejuvenating and hydrating the skin, says Tamy.

The Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. organic rose petal powder
  • 1 tsp. organic camellia or grapeseed oil
  • 1/4 tsp. Manuka honey or agave syrup
  • 1-2 tsp. organic rosewater

The Instructions

Mix the rose petal powder with the oil and honey (warm up the honey a bit to liquify it and make it easier to mix; you can skip this step if you’re using agave syrup). Once combined well, start adding the rosewater a little at a time. Stir to moisten the mixture and keep on adding rosewater until you achieve a thick but spreadable consistency. Spread onto clean skin; leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse well. Use the mask once or twice a week.

Not in the mood to DIY?

“The one product I cannot live without from my brand,” says Tamy, “is our Facial Oil Cleanser. It removes makeup (even waterproof makeup) effortlessly, it smells amazing and leaves your skin glowing and moisturized.”

She continues, “I [also] love both our organic camellia oil and rosewater because you can use them on their own and in DIY recipes likes the one I mentioned here.”
