#MyCleanBeautyShelf: Ashleigh Frager of Back to Basics’ Morning Routine

2 min read

Ashleigh Fager, the founder of Back to Basics and a homeopathic practitioner, has seen how essential it is to our health and well-being to eliminate toxic chemicals from our lives. Her personal health journey and her experience helping clients in her practice led her to create the monthly box that helps you swap out products full of toxic, health-damaging ingredients for better, safer alternatives. She’s an expert on brands that work better than their conventional counterparts, so we got a peek inside her morning routine in our latest #MyCleanBeautyShelf.

My beauty philosophy is…

True beauty is achieved when you approach it holistically. Focusing on a beauty routine that is beneficial to all aspects of your being will allow your beauty to shine from the inside out.

First thing in the morning, I…

Get the water boiling for that all-too-necessary cup of tea!

My morning skincare routine

Washing my face with Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser. I’ll leave it on as a quick mask if I have a few extra minutes. Then I use the CoQ-10 Toner followed by one of my favorite facial oils. I choose between Herbivore Lapis or Herbivore Orchid and Indie Lee Squalane Oil. For the winter months, I’ve been adding in some Indie Lee Squalane Cream before the oils. I’ll then apply Erbaviva Sunscreen SPF 30 for sun protection.

My morning haircare routine

I use a quick dusting of Green & Gorgeous Dry Shampoo on those days when a shower just wasn’t in the cards! The kabuki brush application is a total game changer.

My morning makeup routine

I use all Au Naturale makeup because of the performance and easy application… and of course the clean ingredients! The Creme de la Creme Eyeshadow (apply straight from container) and Powder Foundation (pump applicator straight onto brush) are my favorites. They have taken my 10-minute face down to 5 minutes. I also use the Concealer, Powder Bronzer, Powder Blush, Swipe-On Eyeliner and Lip Gloss/Stain/Stick depending on the day. I finish it all off with Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Mist, which works wonderfully as a makeup setter.

My favorite beauty tip

I notice that my skin is most out of balance when my body has a lot to detox. Keeping our environments and diets clean is so important to the health of our skin!
