#MyCleanBeautyShelf: Healthy Hair to Toe’s Morning Routine

First thing in the morning, I…

Drink warm lemon-ginger water and meditate before my kids wake up! LOL.

My morning skincare routine

I rinse my face with raw organic honey and tone with pure aloe vera from the leaf. I follow up with Alba Ramos’ x Derma E’s Radiant Face Glow Oil.

My morning haircare routine

Let my curls down and I’m out the door! I add Be Kekoa’s Tamanu Oil blend if my curls or scalp need a boost of shine or moisture.

My morning makeup routine

I don’t wear makeup daily but when I do, I follow a few steps to keep my skin healthy and protected. I always cleanse with raw honey and tone with aloe or Thayer’s Witch Hazel before applying makeup. I also remove my makeup immediately rather than before bed. I love Derma E’s makeup remover. Next, I cleanse with Raw Apothecary’s Raw African Black Soap and some raw organic honey for a deep clean and healthy glow. If I’ve worn makeup for an extended period of time, I’ll do a facial. Bentonite clay and Raw Apothecary’s Mud Mask are my faves! I tone my skin with raw apple cider vinegar and moisturize with Thayer’s Witch Hazel toner and Derma E’s Radiant Face Glow Oil or sweet almond oil. I’ve been loving Derma E’s Age Defying Eye Cream. It’s great under makeup or alone!

My favorite beauty tip

When it comes to makeup, plant-based and nontoxic is the way to go! Pay special attention to a product’s ingredients and how your skin reacts to them. Antonym Cosmetics and Au Naturale are my go-tos. Also, don’t keep makeup longer than six months and clean your brushes regularly. Next, don’t wait until right before bed to remove makeup if you don’t have to. Remove it as soon as you get home to minimize pore clogging and prevent breakouts. Lastly, drink a ton of water daily!
